Abbey Butterfield is 29 years old and lives on the beautiful sunny Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia with her husband and two boys. She started playing tennis at the age of six and played 3-4 times a week until she was a teenager. During the lockdown in 2020, she started to learn pickleball on her parents' driveway and was instantly addicted!

Last year, Abbey achieved her goals of becoming a certified pickleball coach as well as an Ace Athletics sponsored athlete. She loves pickleball and wanted to help others develop their skills. Coming from a tennis background, she found pickleball easy to transition into once she learned the basics and finds it highly addictive and fun. Women’s tennis fashion is our passion, but we’re starting to see comparisons with different ventures - even with pickleball outfits!

When asked about the partnership with Ace Athletics, Abbey said “I fell in love with Ace Athletics as soon as I saw the huge range of skorts. I am a very girly girl so love to look cute while on the court, but always find it so difficult to find brands. Abbey is a very competitive person at heart and loves to challenge herself, so tournaments are her favourite. So far this year, she has placed 2nd in Open mixed doubles, 3rd in Open women's doubles and 3rd in a team’s challenge. She has about 10 tournaments planned for the remainder of the year. It’s a no-brainer that she would need durable women’s active wear for her upcoming competitions.
